About Jon, CPT Founder

Jon Porter was born and raised just outside of Chicago in Elmhurst, IL. Growing up, Jon and his closest friends were fortunate enough to have parents that were raised in Chicago and would allow them to head downtown to check out some of their favorite pizzerias. There was of course one stipulation; bringing home leftover slices! These pizzerias were classics back in our parents day and decades later, nothing had changed.

After college, Jon moved all over the neighborhoods including Lakeview & Bucktown. Living with the same friends he grew up with, tasting the same classic pizzas they’d always eaten… and introducing themselves to a few new ones that weren’t as popular but just as delicious.

Fast forward to 2009, living in Printers Row with his wife and son, Jon decided to take his passion for pizza & Chicago to the next level. Too many people were traveling to Chicago and just eating near their hotel. That meant they were missing the best neighborhoods, and missing the real flavor of Chicago pizzas. So with the goal in mind of showcasing Chicago One Slice At A Time… Chicago Pizza Tours was created.
